Mr. Cranky @ Large

Four Shows Reviewed

Coming home from the opening night party for The Scarlet Pimpernel last night and scrambling over the 'net looking for some reviews, I found myself bouncing back to the article I wrote at the end of last season, "Finding the Reviews." Check it out for yourself if you're in the mood to do your own searching. But if you're not, it occurred to me that perhaps it'd be appreciated if I provided some links for reviews of recently opened shows.

Be aware that many of the large newspapers do not make their review archives available online, and some of them reference the reviews pages so that they cannot be bookmarked, so it's possible that a number of these links will not be valid for very long -- which explains why the more recent openings have more links (which will tend to go bad in a day or so). Also be aware that many of the papers listed require that you register with the site before you can get to the link. But registration is free.

I plan on making this a somewhat regular event. If there's a major production opening somewhere that you'd like to see some reviews for, write me.

Forget what the critics say -- they're all morons anyway. Find out for yourself -- go see a show!

Need a suggestion? If you're going to be around NYC, go see Two Pianos, Four Hands. This brilliant tour de force, splendidly performed by its creators, filled with glorious music and pathos, just arrived in New York after a successful Canadian run. Directed by Gloria Muzio. Don't miss it!

See you at the theatre.
