Stoll Moss Theatres
If you're planning a theatre-going visit to London, you can't
afford to miss a visit to the Stoll
Moss Theatres website. Owners of ten West End Theatres, as
well as booking and ticketing agents for many more, Stoll Moss
(and their webmaster, Sarah Foster) have endeavored to create
a site that provides information on and access to a full range
of theatre services.
The site's extensive cross-referencing makes it quite multidimensional,
with every page containing dozens of links to other portions of
the site. Details about the shows, the theatres, and (of course)
ticket information are usually no more than a click away.
The site is primarily organized around:
- Shows Index: The main page lists special offers and
new shows, concerts, and other performances. Here's where you'll
find the links to info on specific shows through links to pages
on opera, dance, drama, concerts, events, musicals, comedies,
and more. Following the links to a particular show gains you
more detailed information about the show (performance schedules,
ticket info, cast and crew lists), and on Stoll Moss-owned theatres
gets you access to its "Venue History" (which because
of the great age of some of these theatres makes Playbill
magazine's "About this theatre" section seem like
"The Week in Review) as well as extensive technical data
about that theatre. And when I say "extensive," I mean
it: you'll find everything from "Nearest Underground Station"
and "Seating Capacities" to "Stage Finish,"
"Dock Door," "Flying System," and "Position
of Prompt Corner."
- How to Book: Providing details on how to make your
reservations through the site, or via fax or phone.
- Theatre Breaks: Hotel/Theatre packages.
- VIP Services: Special "Red Carpet" packages.
- Groups
- Schools Info: Details about special group and individual
rates for school-aged children, a "Drama Workshop,"
and tours of the theatres.
- Theatre Club: Contests and ticket giveaways.
- Venue Hire: Providing information on renting a Stoll
Moss theatre.
With a site that provides ticketing and information on more
than 70 shows at any given time -- currently everything from concerts
by Marc Almond to Gene Pitney, from ballet to opera, from Annie
to Whistle Down the Wind -- if you're planning a theatre
trip to London, you can't go wrong making your first stop the
Stoll Moss website.
