Dunleavy 1, Chicago The Musical 0

[ P ]  Chicago Welcomes the Scouts Dec. 3

The 2 PM Dec. 3 matinee performance of the Tony-winning revival of Chicago will be performed for over 500 members of the Girl Scouts of the USA.

And what a wonderful message that show sends to the young women of America... :)

At 3:36 today, my good friend and colleague, Tim Dunleavy, wrote the above comment in red referring to the Playbill story that the Girl Scouts of The USA we coming to see a Broadway show. For the past 7 or so years, we have made short comments like this daily.

At 4:51, I received an irate call from someone claiming to be affiliated with Chicago, The Musical. I couldn't verify that because they were incoherent and emotionally out of control. I finally hung up on this person.

What I did get from the various squeals of incense was that Tim did not know what he was talking about, and that he was wrong to make this comment. I support Tim, the comment stays. Perhaps the crazed caller is unaware of our guidelines.

I believe that everyone should have an opinion. Opinions are not right or wrong, they are a point of view. But you decide from yourself. Go to the website for Chicago, The Musical.

These are the words that they use to promote their show (which I love, a great show):

Murder
Greed
Corruption
Violence
Exploitation
Adultery
Treachery

Really, is what Tim said so wrong?
